Tugboat Heron & LCM
This is a two for one dive site. The 53 foot long tugboat Heron rests in 90 feet of water upright and remains fairly intact however she has sunk into the sand up to her main deck level but the true treat of this wreck is the WWII Marine Landing Craft (LCM) sits only 70 feet way off her Starboard Stern Quarter. The LCM is a 56 foot long craft that had large, high sides to protect Marines as they approached the beaches from the sea during WWII. The site is known for having many tropical as well as Garden Eels that populate the sand just outside of the wreck. Care must be taken to approach them to see them extending their heads above the sand.
