Chevron Oil Rig
A retired oil rig donated to Pensacola by the Chevron Oil company this is actually two sections of the drilling platform that are upright only 50 feet from each other. The structure sits in 135 feet of water but the top of the larger base comes to within 75 feet of the surface while the smaller rig cap comes to within 90 feet of the surface. As with every other oil rig structure, lionfish populate the rig as well as numerous other tropical. A large variety of marine life frequent the site to include, whale sharks, manta rays, Ocean Sunfish, and plenty of other amazing critters. It is always exciting to see what you will find at the site on a day to day basis.
